Success Stories
Murder Charge Dismissed: Our client was accused of shooting someone after an argument at a night club. The police charged them with murder. At a preliminary hearing, we were able to show that the witnesses were unable to identify our client and had only given a vague description that matched any number of people. Case dismissed.
Murder Charge Dismissed: Our client had left a public gathering after a fight had broken out. He had car trouble and was fixing his car along wth his father, whom he had called to help. A person was shot and our client was named. We were able to show that the actual shooter and his friends were allowing our client to take the fall for a crime he did not commit. Case dismissed.
Forgery Charge Dismissed: Our client sold his car to someone that paid him with a fake money order. Our client was arrested when he attempted to cash the check. We were able to present email and technical data that showed he was a victim and not a perpetrator. Case Dismissed.
Federal Gun Charged Reduced to Misdemeanor: In a very rare occurrence in Federal Court, we were able to get a misdemeanor. Our client purchased a gun for another person who had deceived her. He then sold the gun and it was used in a murder in another jurisdiction. Although she was charged as being a "straw purchaser", we were able to show how the actual criminal and unscrupulous gun dealer had duped our client. Cased Reduced.
Drug Trafficking reduced: Our client's home was searched after police had found a package of marijuana being shipped to her home. In the home, police also found a large sum of cocaine. She faced trafficking charges for both. Her first lawyer was unable to get her released on bond, but we were able to convince the judge to release her. After a hearing, we so thoroughly went after the investigator that the State agreed to reduce the charges. Our client walked away without a felony conviction.
Arson and Insurance Fraud Dismissed: Our client was accused of burning his high end sports car and then filing an insurance claim. We aggressively fought the charges. The Fire Marshall and insurance company worked together and tested the car, but destroyed it before we were able to have independent tests. We were able to do a financial profile of the client to disprove any motive to commit the crime. We obtained an expert mechanic to show that the car, if it had been preserved, would have shown signs that it had been towed thereby refuting the claim that the car was driven with a key. Result: Case Dismissed.
Armed Robbery reduced to misdemeanor: Our client was facing a possible life sentence. She was stopped for a traffic violation while driving her boyfriend away from the scene of an armed robbery with a rifle carrying case in the backseat. We were able to obtain cell phone records, bank surveillance video, and bank deposit information to show that she had simply picked her boyfriend up, but had not participated in the actual robbery. Result: charges reduced to a misdemeanor.
Murder and Carjacking reduced to theft by taking: Client was indicted for a drug related murder and car jacking. He was facing two life sentences. On the day of trial, we were able to obtain a separate trial from the actual shooter, who went on to be convicted. Thereafter, we were able to obtain a reduction of charges to Theft by Taking.
